Companies due to internal conflict and politics lose experienced staff annually. The reason for this being that people do not have a clear understanding of their own inner workings. Most people cannot separate themselves from their personal and professional feelings and situations. A person may be appointed or promoted to the position of manager or director of a company. The person might have the skills required for the position, but it does not mean that he/she would be able to manage people. A person in a position of seniority can become an asset to a company when that person understands him/herself. Some companies send staff on supervisory or management courses where they are taught how to manage time and people. If they cannot manage their own lives personally or professionally they will not be effective managers irrelevant of the amount of management courses they attended.
